NAVSO Founder Discusses the Challenges, Advantages of Miltary Veterans Reentering the Workforce
On the heels of the 2016 Memorial Day weekend when our nation paused to celebrate the sacrifices of American soldiers who died protecting our freedom, Chris Ford makes his debut on the ResCare Workforce Services Network.
Chris Ford is the founder and CEO of the National Association for Veteran Serving Organizations (NAVSO), which is a non-profit organization based in Washington D.C. that supports the nation's more than 40,000 agencies that serve veterans and military families.
Watch this video to understand why he says many of the approximately 200,000 veterans who return to civilian lifestyles every year are hampered in their job search by the "hero-or-victim" stereotype that too many people have about them. And hear him explain how career centers - like the ones managed by ResCare Workforce Services - can help former military service men and women improve how they transition into traditional work environments.
